Info on Richmond Meet

October 13, 2011

They have now posted the race assignments for Richmond.  We are in the ‘A’ races for both boys and girls.  I will try to check on how good those Virginia schools are; Cosby is the team that beat us during our first girls 4×8 school record in the spring, and has the defending champ who ran 17:42 last year.  We are also in the earlier (noon for girls; 12:30 for boys) JV races.   It appears that due to the number of teams entered, they are not placing any ‘B’ teams in the varsity races, so everyone outside the top seven will probably be in the JV race.

There is a video tour of the course:  Mile 1, Mile 2, and Mile 3.

This discussion also has info about parking at the meet, which apparently is somewhat challenging.  If you know anyone driving up to the meet, advise them to check out this info.

Update:  Top ranked VA teams and individuals in the meet, based purely on season-best times.

Girls Teams – Four of the top seven and nine of the top 19 teams in Virginia.  16 of the 24 Virginia schools in the race are in the state top 50.
